Extended hours for passports
PRINCETON — To ensure the receipt of passports for the holidays, post offices through central Illinois will extend passport hours and locations to help travelers prepare for international trips.
Passport Acceptance Agents will be available evenings at the Princeton Post office from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The post office number is (815) 879-2001. Evening hours will also be available at the Mendota Post Office and Ottawa Post Office.
A completed DS-11 Passport Form must be completed prior to arrival. Applications are available at the Mendota, Peru, Princeton or Ottawa offices or online at www.travel.state.gov. Applicants must also have one form of citizenship (previous U.S. passport, certified birth certificate, naturalization certificate, certificate of citizenship or consular's report of a birth abroad) and one proof of identity (valid driver's license, military photo ID, valid U.S. passport or state photo ID).
Total fees per adult is $115, which includes two official passport photos. Children's passports, ages 15 and under, are $100. Each application requires two separate checks or money orders — $75 for adults and $60 for children payable to U.S. Department of State and $40 processing and passport photo fee payable to Postmaster.
