Arlington flags
ARLIGNTON — Flags which were blessed during Memorial Day services at Calvary Cemetery in Arlington during this year's Memorial Day services will be flown on Veterans Day.
Twenty-one, 12-foot-tall flags line the walk way, which begins at the main entrance and continues to the Mound, which features a natural stone monument, framing life-size gilded bronze statues of the Calvary grouping. These flags were purchased by family members or friends of veterans during an "Honor a Veteran" campaign, sponsored by the Calvary Cemetery Association in 2008-09.
Flags will be raised at dusk on Tuesday and will remain flying until dawn on Thursday. Friends of Calvary Cemetery and guests are invited to visit the cemetery during this period to remember the veterans and their families buried there.
