Time to come clean
To the Editor,
What is the dirty little secret that the Bureau Valley School Board is keeping so hush-hush from the taxpayers of the school district? It has been stated that it involves an employee of the district ... Is the district hiding from the rumors from a year ago involving a former employee of the district, or is the district getting ready to be slapped with a civil lawsuit that is going to cost the district and the taxpayers for lawyers and settlement costs?
And why is it that our superintendent has made the comment that the law provides him the right to stay until the end of the school year and then retire? What has he done where he has to make that kind of statement?
Bureau Valley Schools have a zero tolerance policy for acts committed for both students and the faculty. So what is it? What is the truth to all the rumors?
We, as the taxpayers and the voters who elected this school board have the right to the truth. I believe that is located some place in the laws.
Let us taxpayers and voters know what it is that we are paying for and where we should place our votes in the next election. It’s time that the Bureau Valley School Board come clean to the voters and the taxpayers of this district.
