Wyanet Police to host toy/food drive
WYANET — The Wyanet Police Department is looking for help with a canned good and unwrapped gift drive.
With the economy the way it is, more families are in need of help with making sure their children have something to look forward to on Christmas morning. Residents in need who are interested in this program should call the Wyanet Police Department at (815) 699-2500 and talk to Chief Todd Marquez or call (815) 699-2631 and talk to Sheila at the Wyanet City Hall.
Callers are asked to leave their name, the name of children under the age of 16, sizes, address and contact number. The department is also asking callers to name a few items their child might be interested in. All calls are strictly confidential.
Area residents who are interested in helping again this year are asked to drop off canned goods and unwrapped gifts at the following Wyanet locations: Citizens First State Bank, Casey’s, the post office, Main Street Barbecue, Coffee Depot, city hall and the police department. Monetary donations and gift cards will also be accepted. Names will be accepted until Dec. 3.
