Highway dept. to hold public hearing
PRINCETON — The Bureau County Highway Department will hold a public hearing concerning the proposed replacement of the bridge carrying County Highway 8 (Wyanet-Walnut Road) over the Iowa Interstate Railroad and the Hennepin Canal, located on the southwest edge of the village of Wyanet.
The open house will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at the Bureau County Republican, 800 Ace Road in Princeton. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend the meeting. The meeting room is handicap accessible. If special accommodations are required, contact John Gross.
The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis with displays of the proposed improvement including maps, drawings, aerial photography and preliminary reports. Representatives of Bureau County will be available to explain the need for the project, the proposed improvements, right-of-way acquisition and the tentative construction schedules. Representatives will answer individual questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. The draft section 106 and Programmatic 4(f) Report will be available for review and comment. The same material is currently available for review and inspection at the Bureau County Highway Department, 595 Elm Place, Princeton.
