Christine Lafferty

SPARTA — Christine "Shorty" Lafferty, 91, of Sparta died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Sparta Community Hospital.

Born Nov. 4, 1918, in Cutler to Andy H. and Lorene (Fuller) Pugh, she married Russell Lafferty. He died in 1962.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are one daughter, Rhonda Lenihan of Princeton; one sister, Pauline Koch of Sparta; one brother, Rodney Pugh of Sparta; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James; four sisters; and one brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McDaniel Funeral Home, Sparta, with the Rev. Tom Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Cutler Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
