Roseberg named to Chicago Fire All-Academic Team
Princeton senior Scott Roseberg has been named to the Chicago Fire All-Academic team.
Requirements for the All-Academic Team sponsored by Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association require all candidates to be seniors, carry a grade point average of a B or higher and must be involved in at least two other school or community activities or sports.
“There are only 22 players selected for this team across the state, so it’s a huge honor for Scott,” PHS coach Jason Bird said.
Roseberg, the 2009 BCR Player of the Year, was previously named to the IHSSCA All-Sectional Team and became the first player to earn first team NCIC honors four times. He led the Tigers with 22 points (15 goals, 7 assists),
Roseberg was one of eight midfielders named to the squad. Others include Alden Marton of Wheaton Warrenville South, Austin Manierre of Lake Forest, Andrew Glick of Pekin, Benjamin Stein of Downers Grove North, Jomar Mendoza of West Aurora, Drew Nuding of Rochester and Jacob Abou-Hanna of Dunlap.
Forwards selected were Matthew Pablo of Glenbard North, Bart Bak of Northridge Prep, Sam Duffield of Marmion Academy, Michael Harvey of Lincoln Way North and Ethan Hoppe of Lincoln Park.
The academic team also included Colin Ringel of Warrenville South, Miguel Medina Bravo of Blue Island Eisenhower, Zachary Forbes of Quincy, Eeshan Talwar of Lake Forest, Ramzi Riadi of Downers Grove South, Ricky Gandhi of Reavis, Brian Carlisle of University of Chicago Lab Schools and goalkeepers Sean Healey of Carl Sandburg and Mike Bednarz of Maine West.
