Bureau Valley School Board
MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley School Board took action on the following items at its meeting Nov. 16:
• Heard a presentation from Whiteside Area Career Center program director Wilma Hewitt. Students are able to earn credits in areas covering child care, criminal justice, cosmetology, building trades, transportation service and information technology.
• Approved the 2009 audit, as presented by Lucy Frasco of Wilcoxson and Associates. Frasco said it was a good report but reflected the state’s late payments in the areas of transportation, special education and prekindergarten. The taxable assessed valuation for the district was $106,361,147, up from the previous year’s $100,016,612.
• Heard final bills for the Wyanet demolition have been turned over to the bonding company for payments, and final grounds work is being completed.
