SHEFFIELD — A rural Sheffield woman was pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 6, Route 34 and Route 40 Tuesday morning.
Bureau County Sheriff John Thompson said the driver of a grain truck was traveling southbound on Route 40 sometime after 11 a.m. when it struck a minivan in the four-way stop intersection.
Coroner Janice Wamhoff pronounced LuAnn Jensen, 55, the driver of the minivan, dead at the scene at 12:30 p.m. Both drivers were transported to Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Neither Thompson or Wamhoff were able to release any additional details at the time. Thompson said accident reconstructionist Gary Becket was on the scene and would continue the investigation.
