Service cancelled

SHEFFIELD — Because of the weather, the annual Christmas event at the historic Danish Church in Sheffield set for Sunday has been cancelled.

Book sale

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a book sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the north lobby of the hospital. All proceeds will go to fund hospital projects.

Nut and candy sale

SPRING VALLEY — St. Margaret’s Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a nut and candy sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the lower lobby of the hospital. More than 60 varieties of nuts, chocolates, dried fruits and candies will be available for reasonable prices. Holiday dinner

SPRING VALLEY — A holiday dinner for those in need or homebound during the holidays will be hosted by St. Margaret’s Hospital at 2 p.m. Sunday in the hospital cafeteria. The dinner is free and transportation will be provided for those who do not have a ride. Home delivery is available for those who are homebound, preferably by referral. Reservations for transportation or home delivery may be made by calling (815) 664-1486 or (815) 5346, ext. 486.

PRINCETON — One- and two- blue star service banners are available at American Legion Post 125 of Princeton. For information, call (815) 872-1171 and leave a message.

Auxiliary reminder

PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 is no longer accepting magazines of any kind due to limited storage. Area residents should consider making donations to the local nursing homes.
