Woodcrafters meeting
PRINCETON — Woodcrafters Unlimited will meet Thursday at the Bureau County Senior Citizens Center, 16 W. Marion St. in Princeton. Show and tell will start at 6:30 p.m. with the regular meeting to start at 7 p.m. A reminder to all members that the yearly dues are due at the January meeting. Bob Folty would like to remind any members or other interested people that he will have a seminar on woodworking problems at Folty’s Market in Tonica every Tuesday night starting at 6:30 p.m. Woodcrafters meetings are open to the public.
Dinner auction
PRINCETON — The Bureau County United Way’s second annual “Night at the Improv,” a comedy dinner auction, will be at 6 p.m. March 6 at Wise Guys Bar & Grill in Princeton. The event will include a dinner buffet, professional comedy improv show, silent auction, live auction, dessert auction, 50/50 drawing and prize drawings. Tickets are $35 per person, $65 per couple or $200 for a reserved table of six. Tickets are limited to 200.
Quilt show
PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild’s 2011 quilt show will be Friday, March 5, and Saturday, March 6, at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. This year’s theme is “Rhapsody in Quilts.” The show will be chaired by Sandy Rieker of Princeton. There will be a raffled quilt, pieced and quilted by creative and talented guild members.
Pancake breakfast
LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6 to 10. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the junior class.
Community coffee
SHEFFIELD — The First United Church of Christ in Sheffield will hold its monthly community coffee from 7 to 10 a.m. Feb. 6 in the U.C.C. Parish Hall. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls will be served.
NAMI meeting
OTTAWA — The National Alliance on Mental Illness will hold its “Caring Sharing” session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the North Central Behavioral Health Services Office, 727 Etna Road, Ottawa. All sessions are held on the third Thursday of every month. Consumers, families and friends seeking advocacy, support or educational materials on mental health are invited to attend. Meeting planned
KEWANEE — The Henry County Genealogical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the community room, second floor, of the Kewanee Public Library. Steven Whaley will present a program about of his book, “A Blessed Ship – the USS LST 562 in the Southwest Pacific 1944 –1946.” The public is welcome.
