Jean Swanson
ASHTON — Jean A. Swanson, 87, of Ashton passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Swedish American Hospital.
Jean was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Manlius, Ill., the daughter of E.D. and Gladys VanOrmer. She married Jack Swanson March 31, 1946, in Manlius. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ashton. In 1943 she and her sister were two of the first women to graduate with degrees in accounting from the University of Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Jack of Ashton; son David, his wife Grace and their children Eric and Danielle, all of Santa Ana, Calif.; son, Jay, his wife Lillian and their children, John, Sarah and David, all of Medfield, Mass.; and a niece, Hillary Carlson of Bloomingdale, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lynn Carlson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
