Many buyers of used vehicles worry about whether they may be buying a lemon even though the seller gives them assurance the vehicle is in good condition.
Nick Fascetta of Ottawa, the owner of The Auto Inspectors Inc., will look at vehicles people are wanting to buy and conduct a 200-point inspection of the vehicle to make sure they aren’t buying a vehicle with serious repair issues.
“This inspection gives you a detailed report on the vehicle and a negotiating tool to either get the price lower if the items aren’t fixed or make them fix it before you buy it at a certain price,” he said. “This gives the buyer protection when purchasing a vehicle. I see things most people don’t see that independent dealerships or shops hide or disguise that people may get stuck later with costly repairs.”
Fascetta, who has 12-plus years of experience as a mechanic, is an A.S.E. Certified Journeyman Mechanic. He also has extensive knowledge of the inner workings of dealerships and independent repair facilities.
“Nobody in Illinois does this,” he said. “This is a big passion for me.”
Fascetta said not only private individuals can use his service, but also banks for repossessed vehicles or dealerships who don’t have a service department.
“I work for you, not others,” he added. “I can do the inspection wherever at your home or at a dealership or a parking lot. I am mobile. I will go where you want me to go. When you are spending $25,000 for a vehicle, what is $100 if it will save you money down the road? People can’t afford to miss $1,000 to $2,000 if items are not repaired or done wrongly.”
Fascetta also offers a warranty ending inspection focusing on warranty related issues for vehicles. He can detect problems with vehicles while they are under warranty and allows the owner to have them repaired at no cost, saving them money by utilizing their remaining warranty.
He also offers a buyer advantage plan helping people get the best deal when buying a vehicle. Fascetta will navigate people through the buying and trading process.
The inspection usually takes Fascetta about 60 minutes and can be completed at the location of the buyer’s choice. He keeps up with technology and what is new in the service area.
