The Bureau Valley Storm snapped a four-game losing streak just in time for the postseason, defeating Fulton 42-40 Thursday.

Melanie Thompson scored 20 points with 10 rebounds and Meghan Musche added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. BV will take an 18-8 record into the Princeton Regional next week, finishing 9-5 in the Three Rivers.

Kewanee 61, Princeton 33: The host Lady Boiler-makers overpowered the Tigresses in the final NCIC Lincoln contest of the 2009-10 season and the last conference meeting between the longtime rivals.

Kewanee held PHS to three second-quarter points, a three by Jasmine Kunkel, while scoring 14 points to take a 31-12 halftime lead. Senior Lacey Jensen scored all of her team-high 11 points in the second half for PHS. Kunkel finished with nine.

“We didn’t match up to Somonauk very well tonight. That, with poor shooting, makes for a long night,” L/O coach Bill Stouffer said.

Aubrey Molln powered L/O to a 57-17 win in the F/S game with 34 points and 23 rebounds.

IVC 61, Hall 39: An upset was in the making early at Red Devils Gymnasium where the host Lady Devils took a 15-14 lead after one quarter against the NCIC Lincoln leading Lady Grey Ghosts.
