PINCKNEYVILLE — Helen Louise Jenkins, 85, of Pinckneyville died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Born Oct. 18, 1924, in Iuka to Hiram and Edna (Meador) Mulvaney, she married Charles W. Jenkins Aug. 15, 1954, in Odin. He died in 2001.

She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville.

Surviving are one son, Mark Jenkins of Springfield; two daughters, Carol (Lee) Shafer of Athens, Ill., and Donna (Robert) Albrecht of Ohio, Ill.; one sister, Wanda (William) Cannon of Casey; and two grandsons, Jacob and Greg Albrecht.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Martin Cemetery, rural Alma, with the Rev. Tom Corum officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The Rankin Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.
