Nellie Galinausky

TISKILWA — Nellie Galinausky, 97, formerly of Tiskilwa and Chicago, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 24, 1912, in Canton to Frank and Mary (Grigalavich) Buckler, she married Toney J. Galinausky Aug. 21, 1943, in Chicago. He died in 1991.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Tiskilwa and the church Rosary Society.

Surviving are two daughters, Toni Hodor of Palos Park and Marilyn (Len) Christakos of North Charleston, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Melissa and Craig (Skye) Christakos.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Antoinette Sarockas; and two brothers, Joe and George Buckler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Church, Tiskilwa, with the Rev. Kevin Creegan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tiskilwa.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m., at the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Church in Tiskilwa or the Bureau County Senior Citizens Organization.
