Alberta Wilson
LITCHFIELD — Alberta Mae Wilson, 86, of Litchfield passed away at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born in Buda, Ill., on April 17, 1923, a daughter of Herman G. and Blanche M. (Grubaugh) Madsen. She graduated from Buda High School, Class of 1940. She married Kenneth M. Wilson Jan. 31, 1948, in Walnut, Ill., and he survives.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler. She taught Sunday school and served on the Church Council for several years. Additionally, Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Citizens for a Better Environment, a Leader for various 4-H groups spanning 35 years of service and Home Extension. Mrs. Wilson was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Illinois Pork Producers Association and the Central Illinois Livestock Feeders Association.
In addition to her husband Kenneth, Mrs. Wilson is survived by one son, Robert (Carol Jarden) Wilson of Litchfield, Ill.; two daughters, Debra (Jeff) Wood of Tiskilwa, Ill., and Donna (Dr. Keith) Probst of Estherville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Janelle (Mike) Smith of Sheffield, Ill., Conner Probst of Estherville, Iowa, and Gretchen Probst of Estherville, Iowa; one great-grandson, Mijael Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Warren, Ray and Roy Madsen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wares Grove Lutheran Church, Butler, with the Rev. John Jaffry officiating. Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.
The family suggests memorials to the Wares Grove Lutheran Church or the Montgomery County 4-H Foundation.
