PRINCETON — Lyle L. Peach, 85, of 1202 Linda Drive, Princeton, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Liberty Village Nursing Home in Princeton.

Lyle was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Princeton, the son of Charles W. and Cora L. (Mead) Peach. He was united in marriage to Florence “Alberta” Gustafson on Sept. 23, 1950, in Walnut and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2005.

He served in the U.S. Army. Lyle was a retired truck driver and farmer in the Princeton area. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut and was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed tractor rides.

He is survived by one daughter, Nela (Michael) Regan of Apple Valley, Calif.; three sons, Les (Mary) Peach of Montgomery, Ronald (Danette) Peach of Godfrey and Gary (Becky) Peach of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ila Allen of Princeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.

Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Walnut Cemetery.

A time of sharing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

A memorial has been established in his memory to the First Christian Church  of Walnut and the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
