PRINCETON — Registration for the upcoming cyberbullying workshop has been extended through Monday.

The workshop, “What you need to know about Cyberbullying,” offered by the Faith Committee of the 13th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Prevention Council, will be presented from 9 a.m. to noon March 23 at the Illinois Valley Community College Cultural Centre, 815 N. Orlando Smith Highway, Oglesby. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.

This class will offer a comprehensive look at cyberbullying, defining what it is, who perpetrates it, unique features that distinguish it from traditional bullying, how it impacts its victims, and how to recognize and respond to it effectively to avoid future incidents. Teachers, social workers and others who work with youth and wish to expand their knowledge of this growing threat are encouraged to attend. Three CEU hours will be available. Refreshments will be served outside the Centre.

The class is free and open to the public, though registration is required by Monday.

To register, call (815) 915-8117 or e-mail the council at 13fvpc@mchsi.com.
