Bureau Valley School Board 3-15
MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley School Board took action on the following items at its meeting March 15:
• Approved the consent agenda, which included the resignations of Tracy Schoff and Valerie Peterson, Bureau Valley North basketball cheerleading sponsors; Teri Smith, BEST program teacher aide; Sarah Mecagni-Bogner, high school special education teacher; Chris Olds, Bureau Valley North eighth-grade girls' basketball coach; Jeff Ohlson, high school varsity girls' basketball coach; Brett Helms, high school assistant varsity basketball coach; Brad Bickett, high school varsity boys' basketball coach; and Jackie Foster, Bureau Valley South seventh-grade volleyball coach.
• Approved the retirements of Dale Bollman, bus driver, and Marc Wilt, bus driver.
• Approved the employment of Maria Biagioni and Abbi Bosnich, Bureau Valley North cheerleading and Student Council sponsors,and Andrew Blackert, Bureau Valley North eighth-grade girls' basketball coach.
• Heard the district received a Fiscal Year 10 School District Library Program Grant in the amount of $810.
• Dismissed first year, part-time aides Paula Richardson and Torri Harrison, and prekindergarten parent coordinator Vicki Yearian, as a reduction-in-force.
• Heard the BV Curriculum Committee will meet with all curricular and extra-curricular areas in the near future.
• Heard negotiations with the certified staff will begin after April 1.
• Heard the high school Scholastic Bowl team won its second consecutive regional championship.
• Heard the annual foundation drawdown is scheduled for April 10 at Arnie’s in Deer Grove.
The next regular meeting of the Bureau Valley District will be at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in the BEST Program cafeteria in Manlius.
