Neponset Village Board
NEPONSET — The Neponset Village Board took action on the following items at its meeting Aug. 18:
• Heard Simon Alwan of Foth give an update on the wastewater treatment plant liner upgrade.
• Heard Pat Sloan of Foth report the U.S.. EPA has been requesting information on the village’s water compliance.
• Heard Bob Williams has been working on getting a crosswalk installed on Fourth Street.
• Saw Eric Hamilton sworn in as police officer.
• Thanked village residents who had filled out surveys, and heard there were only a few left to get finished.
• Issued a building permit to Kenneth Hellburg.
• Heard a “no trucks” sign will be ordered for the gas station exit.
• Heard Weeks is continuing work on getting trees, weeds and non-compliant vehicles removed.
• Heard the American Legion is putting up recognition signs and would like to place one on the side entrance of the community building.
• Heard some past due accounts had their water shut off.
• Heard part-time village help is being considered.
