ARLINGTON — Eurith L. Goetz, 70, of Arlington died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital in Peoria.
Born Oct. 2, 1939, in Princeton to Herbert and Aurelia (Hassler) Fiste, she married Elwin Goetz April 5, 1959, in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Hill near Hollowayville. He survives.
She graduated from Malden High School in 1957. From 1975 to 1983, she was a secretary at Malden High School and from 1984 to 2003 she was a caseworker for IDHS in Princeton and Granville. She retired in 2003.
She was an active member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday school. She also played the organ and taught Bible school at Church on the Hill and piano at youth worship at the Zion Church.
Also surviving are two sons, Craig “C.W.” (Sherry Smith) Goetz of Arlington and Kyle (Delina) Goetz of Ladd; three grandchildren, Hailey, Hope and Hanna Goetz, all at home; and one sister-in-law, Judy (the late Wayne) Fiste of Malden.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarion Township with the Rev. Kevin Weeks officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.
