PRINCETON — With less than two weeks left until Grandparents Day on Sept. 12, third-graders at Lincoln Elementary School in Princeton have already gotten a head start in putting their writing and drawing skills to work as they describe their grandparents and what they mean to them.

All comments were left exactly as they were submitted to the Bureau County Journal.

“My grandma is very special. She makes cookies with me. She is really nice. She goes to lunch with my mom and I. And she comes to my birthday celebration. I love my grandma.” — Jacob Campbell

“I love my gradma and grandpa. My grandpa makes milk shakes. I love them! My grandma lets me clean house and wach tv. Somtimes I spend the night at her house and she lets me cook. She tucks me in bed. And lets me see my cousin Phiiip. They buy stuff for me even cristmas presents and birthday presents. and they help me. That’s why I love my grandma and grampa.” — Calina Borsch
