TISKILWA — Bill Sears, 58, of Tiskilwa died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at his home.

Born Oct. 10, 1951, in Princeton to Wayne H. and Verna (Springer) Sears, he married Kathy Clark May 24, 1975, in Wauseon, Ohio. She survives.

He graduated from Tiskilwa High School. He worked as an over-the-road trucker for many years, as well as farming and raising cattle on the family farm before becoming the Indiantown Township highway commissioner. At the time of his death, he was serving his third term as highway commissioner. He was very dedicated to this position and was very active in the Township Officials of Illinois Organization. He was also a volunteer fireman and EMT for Tiskilwa Fire Department for many years, a member of the Bureau County Cattleman’s Association during his farming career and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge.

Also surviving are two daughters, Shelly K. (Jon) Kierczynski of Naples, Fla., and Molly J. (John) Keener of Tiskilwa; one sister, Linda (Paul) Stalter of Graymont; one brother, Gary (Judy) Sears of Archbold, Ohio; four grandchildren, James and Jessie Kierczynski, and John W. Keener IV and Billy Keener; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life and visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. Cremation rites will follow.

Memorials may be directed to family or the American Cancer Society.
