Homestead parade 
looking for veterans

PRINCETON — The Homestead Festival Steering and Parade Committees is inviting local veterans to join the celebration in the 2010 Star Spangled Spectacular parade.

Veterans are encouraged to join as walkers at any of three different positions in the parade — with the Flag of Freedom at Position 3; with the Honor Flight float and the American Legion Post 125, VFW Post 4323 and AMVETS Post 180 which will be together immediately behind the Princeton High School band and cheerleaders at Positions 11 and 12; or with the vehicles of the HHT 2-106th Calvary, Kewanee National Guard at Position 72.

Veterans interested in walking should feel free to approach any member of the parade staff prior to the parade for directions to any of the above positions or visit www.homesteadfestival.com for the parade line up.

Veterans should also feel free to join the veterans’ positions at any point along the route where they can safely do so. Vehicles that have not previously been entered in the parade and assigned a position can not be accommodated.
