There weren’t many of them, but a handful of farmers could be seen harvesting their fields Tuesday and Wednesday, like this operation in western rural Princeton. According to state figures, the 2010 corn crop has advanced to 57 percent mature compared to the five-year average of 24 percent. At this time statewide, an estimated 7 percent of the corn crop has been harvested, with conditions being rated as 60 percent good to excellent.
