An Ottawa man has been reported missing by his family.
On Wednesday, Illinois State Police (ISP) District 17 Captain Greg Hunter reported the ISP called Illinois Conservation Police on Tuesday to Buffalo Rock State Park in LaSalle County after receiving a call from the Buffalo Rock State Park superintendent of an abandoned car left in the park overnight.
Officers searched the car and nearby area in an attempt to locate the registered owner, Donald Broadus, 27, of Ottawa. After a welfare check with the family, it was learned that Broadus had not been seen since Monday.
The Conservation Police used K-9 units from the Ottawa Police Department and Midwest K-9 to conduct a ground search, while Ottawa River Rescue and Utica Fire Department searched the Illinois River.
As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Broadus has not been located. A ground and water search was to resume Wednesday morning.
Anyone with any information on the possible whereabouts of Broadus is urged to contact the Illinois Conservation Police via ISP 17 Headquarters at 815-224-1171.
