PRINCETON — Ronald B. Hulslander, 77, of Princeton passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on June 25, 1933, in Lorraine Township to Carl and Nina (Huff) Hulslander. He married Annette Sharkey on June 28, 1958, in St. John's Catholic Church in Bradford. She survives.

He attended Weathersfield High School in Kewanee and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He worked at Woolworths in Kewanee and Kewanee Manufacturing before working as a millwright at LTV Steel from 1968 until retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Woodworkers of Princeton, Woodcarvers of Arizona, Dad Joe Smith Muzzle Loader Club of Wyanet and the River Rats Muzzle Loader Club of Peru. He was an avid gardener, woodworker, Cubs fan and enjoyed the winters in Arizona for the last several years.

He is also survived by his four children, Nancy (Ray) Meredith of Springfield; Paula (Tim) Anderson of Princeton; Julie (Tom) Peffley of Ottawa and Mark (Carrie) Hulslander of Newport Richey, Fla,; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Brady Meredith; Kyle and Blake Anderson; Becky and Ethan Nelson and Andrew Hulslander; one brother, Lanny (Donna) Hulslander of Kewanee, one sister, Juanita (Lewis) Smith of Monmouth and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Mark Nelson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church. Father Jeffery Stirniman officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Bradford.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial Home.
