Fine arts grant applications available

PERU — “Fall is the time for schools, libraries, museums and other community groups in the Tri-County area to apply for a grant to fund 2012 fine arts programs,” according to Robert Willmot, executive director of the Illinois Valley Fine Arts Trust.

IVFAT will award several thousand dollars in grants for fine arts programs in January 2012. Grants typically range from $200 to $500 to cover the total or partial costs. IVFAT-supported music, art and theater programs must be scheduled after January 2012 and be completed by Dec. 31, 2012.

The Illinois Arts Council funds the trust’s community organization grants. The council receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, but it also depends on the state of Illinois for major support.
