Grand jury hears cases

PRINCETON — A Bureau County grand jury considered the following cases on Oct. 12:

• Tarik Sweeney, 37, of Bethlehem, Pa., was indicted for the Class 3 felony of unlawful possession of cannabis. He is accused of possessing between 500 and 2,000 grams of cannabis on Sept. 23. Illinois State Trooper Ken Patterson testified before the grand jury. Sweeney is free from custody, having posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond.

• Timothy Sexton, 20, of Oswego was indicted for the Class 3 felony of attempted burglary. He is accused of attempting to enter a Spring Valley business without authority with the intent to steal from that business. Spring Valley Police Officer Tim Greene testified before the grand jury. Sexton is in custody with bond set at $25,000.

• Adam Solon, 24, of West Hartford, Conn., was indicted for the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis. He is accused of possessing between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis on Oct. 11, intending to deliver that cannabis to another. Illinois State Police Trooper Michael Kasprak testified before the grand jury. Solon is in custody with bond to be set.
