ANNAWAN — Mary Louise Landwehr Croegaert, 80, of rural Annawan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Mary Lou was born on April 9, 1931. in Kewanee, the daughter of Matthew and Louise (Sherbyn) Kerner. She was a graduate of Galva High School. Mary was united in marriage to Irvin Landwehr on Jan. 20, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1986. She later married Robert Croegaert in 1989. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2011.
Mary assisted both her husbands in farming for many years in the rural Annawan area. She also was employed as seasonal help for Wyffels Hybrids, Atkinson. Mary was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and Church of Peace, Kewanee. She enjoyed raising chickens, farm life, reading, and old western movies.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Louise Landwehr of Annawan; four sons, Merlin (Tibbie) Landwehr of Arizona; Ivin Landwehr of Kewanee; Mervin (Julie) Landwehr of Annawan; Alvin (Terrie) Landwehr of Annawan; 11 grandchildren, Dustin, Eli, Shannon, Justin, Joseph, Jordan Landwehr, Jonathan Huber, Megan Landwehr Nelson, Seth, Alex, Owen Landwehr; four great-grandchildren, Irvin, Lucy, Cora, Ava; three brothers, Richard (Mary Jane) Kerner of Oklahoma; Louis (Ruth) Kerner of Alpha; and Terry (Linda) Kerner of Sheffield; five stepchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd, Atkinson., the Rev. Terry Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in the Hooppole Cemetery.
Visitation for Mary Lou will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Mary Louise Landwehr Croegaert Memorial Fund.
