Criss crossing 25 years of cross country
In continuing the All-Hieronymus 25-year team series, I’ll take a look back at the top 25 cross country runners that I’ve covered beginning with the 1987 season. These will include boys/girls combined, a group consisting mainly of BCR Runners of the Years and all-state runners. We’ll start chronologically from ‘86 listing runners by their senior seasons. Please note, we did not list Runners of the Year (ROY) until 1997.

Mary Ellen Markee (PHS, 1988, joined teammate Jenny Faber as first PHS girls to medal at state, taking 25th in ‘88).
Jenny Faber (PHS, 1989, two-time all-state, taking 8th in ‘88 and 11th in ‘89 as BCR ROY).
