DePue police investigate burglaries

DEPUE — DePue police are investigating the burglaries of two DePue homes during the Christmas and New Year's weekends. According to DePue Police Chief Michael West, an unknown person or persons broke into one of the homes through a bedroom window. The other home was entered by kicking in a basement door.

Articles taken in the burglaries, totaling about $9,000, included jewelry, computers, television sets, electronics and numerous bottles of alcohol.

Evidence, including numerous fingerprints left at the scene, was sent to the crime lab for identification.
