Gloria Mathias
MORO — Gloria J. Mathias, 79, of Moro, formerly of Princeton, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at her home.
Born May 13, 1932, in Princeton to James and Freida (Osborne) Cassidy, she married Donald Mathias July 4, 1954, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. He survives.
She was a preschool teacher at Zion Lutheran and various other schools.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where she was active with the preschool and a Stephen Minister.
Also surviving are one son, Timothy Mathias of Glen Carbon; one daughter, Kelli Mathias of East Alton; one grandson, Tim Mathias of Glen Carbon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter-in-law, Mary Mathias; and one sister, Julie Marcum.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pana.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Preschool in Bethalto.
