Where’s the media?

If you have ever questioned whether or not our media is biased or using its power to inform us only with the information that they think we should know, think no more. They have done it again!

On Monday, Jan. 23, they completely ignored the fact that 400,000 peaceful pro-life Americans, mostly youth and young adults converged on our nation’s capital to March For Life. Maybe it was the fact that it was too cold and rainy to send any reporters out to such a remote location. Maybe the reason our major news networks agree to keep the viewers uninformed is that it just doesn’t look good in continuing to push their pro-abortion agenda. I have called the networks in the past and was told the march was a non-news event. Would 400,000 angry protesters qualify as a news event?

Who would believe the coverage anyway, to see religious leaders from the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Jewish and other faiths or no faith at all stand together in solidarity to seek government protection for all life, born and unborn? Who would believe the great number of our elected congressional representatives Republican and Democrat who spoke on behalf of protecting our unborn and have proposed legislation that the Senate and White House have opposed? Who would believe the black clergy addressing the great disproportionate killing of black unborn children in America, the land of equality? Who would believe seeing hundreds of men and women who have been mentally, physically or spiritually scared by abortion give their testimonies on the steps of our nation’s capital while holding their large black “Silent No More” signs? Who would believe all of the charities represented there which lovingly provide free health care, housing, counseling and continued assistance to expectant mothers in need of help, all without government grants or tax dollars? The adoption option and these charities remove the need for abortion in America. Who would believe seeing the old and the handicapped braving the cold to show their solidarity and compassion for all life, born and unborn? I saw it all, and it was inspiring.

Why is the media afraid to cover an event of this magnitude or let the unborn child have a voice? Why are they afraid to cover the abortion issue from both sides? Fortunately, an ever-growing number of Americans are recognizing that a child is a person no matter how small and that all life is a precious gift that must be protected. We will continue to march and not grow weary until our great nation, under God, once again decides to extend the protection of life and liberty to all.

When all news and sides of a news worthy happening or issue are reported, that is true and honest coverage. When one side of the story or event is ignored or distorted, that is bias and this is how so many of the news medias are run today. They already have a view and a stance on whatever subject and a person is only going to get the story they want you to hear, and believe. Rita was well advised to bring up the subject, and I for one am thanking her.
