Comments (...)PRINCETON — A magic game and informational meeting will be held at the Princeton Public Library at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
On Monday, the BMP Co-op will meet at 2 p.m.; the Monday Night Movie, which will be shown at 6:30 p.m., is a 2007 film about the life of Jane Austen; and Princeton Youth Football will meet at 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, a preschool story hour will be held at 10:30 a.m. The theme is Valentine’s dogs, and there will be music with Miss Cheryl. All area preschoolers and parents or guardians are welcome to attend. Also, Gateway HRC will meet at 1 p.m.; WNUT will meet at 6:30 p.m.; and Talk About will be at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Junior High Book Club will meet at 3:30 p.m., and Chicks with Sticks will meet at 6:30 p.m.
On Feb. 9, the BMP Special Education Co-op will meet at 1 p.m., and the Friends of the Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. to discuss “Shanghai Girls” by Lisa See.
Applications are due Feb. 29 for the library’s Art by Numbers, which will be on display April 9 through May 4. Entry forms are available at the main desk.
OHIO — The Ohio Public Library District has a number of new books, including James Patterson’s “Kill Me if You Can,” Janet Evanovich’s “Explosive Eighteen,” Lee Child’s “The Affair,” John Sandford’s “Shock Wave,” Walter Isaacson’s “Steve Jobs,” and Larry McMurtry’s “Berrybender Narratives.”
For the month of February, the library is going to be featuring “presidential” themed books in honor of Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays.
In addition, the library is holding a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 4 at Rip’s in Ladd. Tickets are available at the library or from any board member for $6. A raffle and 50/50 drawing will be held at this time as well.

SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Public Library is requesting donations of DVD movies and audio books. The library currently has only a handful available, and its VHS tapes are outdated and/or seldom sought from the membership/library card holders. Slightly used or new copies would be appreciated. Drama, historical, comedy, family, documentaries, fiction or non-fiction (any) are sought. These donations would be greatly appreciated and are deductible. Library hours are Monday from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m., Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The library is closed Thursday and Sunday.
LAMOILLE —The LaMoille-Clarion Public Library will let patrons paint a ceramic Valentine on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. This craft is open to ages kindergarten through high school. Third grade and younger, please bring an adult. Registration is required, so call the library at 815-638-2356.
George Washington’s birthday is Feb. 22. Learn about presidents and more at the story hour at 6 p.m. Feb. 22. Share stories, craft and snack with Sara Hildebrand.
DEPUE — The Selby Township Library hosts a blood pressure and blood sugar screening clinic the second Tuesday of each month. Stop in anytime between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. to have your pressure and sugar checked by a health care professional. The clinic is provided by St. Margaret’s Health and is free and open to the public.
SPRING VALLEY — The Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library holds a story hour at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday for all preschool through first grade children.
LADD — Preschool story times are held at the Ladd Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Monday of each month. Programs are designed for 2 to 5 year olds with a parent or guardian. Information on these, and all library programs, may be found at www.laddlibrary.com or on Facebook.
