PRINCETON — Melody Beans made herself right at home at Crown Lanes, winning the 2012 Princeton Women's Master's Bowling Tournament.
The newcomer from LaSalle claimed the top prize Sunday, scoring 94.0 Peterson Points to beat out former champions Shannon Allen (92.02), Cari Hanson (91.13), Anna Flaig (89.39) and Chastidy Rotramel (87.38).
Flaig had the high game of 244 for Day 3 with Brenda Lanham at 225 and Jackie Molln and Kim Mantel tied for third at 222. Rotramel rolled the high series for Day 3 at 958 followed by Beans at 944 and Flaig at 941
Shannon Allen topped the Day 4 highlights Sunday with high games of 245 and 244, accumulating the high series of 1,052. Flaig followed with a 1,010 series with Melinda Camp rolling a 941 with a high game of 230.
Cari Hanson, the defending and five-time champion, had the high game for the tournament with a 266 over the first weekend
Sheryl Marsett was the recipient of the sportsmanship award which was given out in memory of Darlene Shepard.
Helen Lilley led the tournament for having the most pins over her average until the last game when Shannon Allen beat her out with 20 pins over her 172 average. Rotramel finished second with 18 pins over her average with a 181 and Lilley came in third with a 141 and averaged 157 for the 20 games, 16 pins over average.
The top 10 bowlers were Sherry Allen (87.00), Melinda Camp (83.05), Flo Prostko (82.03), Carol Towne (79.20) and Shelly Miller (76.13). Rounding out the 2012 field was Jackie Molln (75.01), Mantel (73.02), Lanham (72.15), Laura Allen (70.47), Amanda Holmes (70.18), Ashley Poruba (69.27), Lilley (68.01), Misty Davis (67.01), Marsett (66.33) and Renae Molln (63.21).
