Performances set
PRINCETON — “The Cotton Patch Gospel,” featuring music and lyrics by Harry Chapin, will be presented as a one-man musical by Phil Kaufmann at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at St. Louis Church in Princeton and at 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton. The purpose of the performances is to raise money for local, national and international programs that help fight hunger. Tickets are $10 and a freewill offering will be accepted. One-hundred percent of the funds raised go directly to fight hunger. Tickets can be purchased at the door, at Citizens or Central Bank in Princeton, or by calling 815-872-2821.
Taco supper
MINERAL — The Mineral Gold Fire Department will hold a taco supper from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Mineral Community Hall. This firefighter’s fundraiser will also include a 50/50 and raffles. Carry-out orders will be available.
Prom parents meeting
PRINCETON — The Princeton High School Parents’ Prom Committee will hold a general information meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the meeting room of the Princeton Public Library. This year’s prom will be May 12 with premiere at the high school and post-prom at the Metro Center. The purpose of the meeting is to get information from volunteers to form the necessary sub-committees and answer questions. Anyone who would consider volunteering for a little, or possibly more than a little, job would be appreciated. If you would like to help and are unable to attend the meeting, contact Stephanie VanOrdstrand at 815-875-3087.
GFWC meeting
PRINCETON — The GFWC Woman’s Club of Princeton will meet at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Susan Moore, director of Bureau Valley Area Hospice, will be the featured speaker. Flea market set
PRINCETON — A flea market will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. Admission is $1 and parking is free. A concession stand will be available.
