Midday Connection to meet Feb. 14

OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Midday Connection, a non-denominational Christian Women’s Group, invites all women from the Illinois Valley area to come to its monthly luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 14 at Deer Park Country Club in Oglesby.

The theme for the luncheon is “Heart of a Hero.” The cost for the lunch and program is $15 inclusive, paid at the door.

There are no membership fees or special requirements to attend. Deer Park is handicapped accessible, except for the rest room, and everyone who would like to meet new people and enjoy a good program is welcome.

Dr. David Thompson, who is affiliated with OSF Heart Care Group in Peoria, will be the special feature and speak on “Women’s Heart Health.”

“Sons of Grace,” a vocal group from Ottawa, will provide inspirational music. The group consists of Paul Bladen, Ralph Deming and Steve Bair.

“Do You Need A Hero?” is the title of guest speaker Teresa “Terry” Rutherford’s talk as she explores how to find a hero. She is a wife and mother and has worked for 18 years in the business world.

The group will have an Illinois Valley Prayer Connection at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Liberty Family Restaurant, 1131 Shooting Park Road in Peru. All women are invited to come for prayer, fellowship and light refreshments.
