GFWC meeting

PRINCETON — The GFWC Woman’s Club of Princeton will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Susan Moore, director of Bureau Valley Area Hospice, will be the featured speaker. For more information, contact Jo Kloster, president, at 815-872-9171. Visitors and prospective members are welcome to attend.

Flea market set

PRINCETON — A flea market will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. Admission is $1 and parking is free. A concession stand will be available.

Chili cook-off

SHEFFIELD — A chili cook-off will be held March 3 at the Hidden Lake Country Club in Sheffield. Proceeds from the event will benefit Music on Main and the 5K run for the Crohns/Colitis foundation. The event will start at 6 p.m. and tickets are $8. There will also be music by Danny Bowman, raffles and silent auctions to enjoy. The fundraiser is supported by Modern Woodmen.

Book fair

PRINCETON — The Zearing Child Enrichment Center will host a Scholastic Book Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13-17. Funds raised will help purchase books for classroom libraries. The center is at 633 Masonic Drive in Princeton.

Genealogy meeting

OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Guild Library, 115 W. Glover St., in Ottawa. Amanda Cook Feperman, professor of political science and history at Illinois Valley College, will speak on “Women of the Civil War.”

Duck and decoy show

HENRY — An antique hunting decoy display featuring items from the collection of Don Clark and decoys and duck calls by Charles Perdew, Charles Walker and Robert Elliston will be featured at the Henry Decoy Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Senachwine High School. The 90-booth show is open to the public. Admission is $5 for adults.

Library fundraiser

OHIO — The Ohio Public Library will host a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 4 at Rip’s in Ladd. Tickets are $6 for a Rip’s chicken dinner. There will be also be a 50/50 drawing and a raffle. Tickets are available from any board member, the library and Citizens First State Bank of Ohio.
