The Hall Lady Red Devils put the finishing touches on the regular season Thursday, defeating the Midland T-Wolves 54-36 in Tri-County Conference play at Varna.
Hall held the T-Wolves scoreless in the first quarter, while scoring 10 points of its own.
Jaclyn Kain powered the Lady Red Devils (16-11) with 24 points, including 10 in the second quarter and seven in the third quarter as Hall stretched its lead to 26-10 at halftime and 43-16 at the end of three.
Kelle Nett added 10 points, Becca Herrmann 8 and Liz Mosbach 7.
Riverdale 75, Bureau Valley 10: Bailey Roberts scored 9 of the Storm’s 10 points in Thursday’s Three Rivers finale at Port Byron. The Lady Rams led 22-2 at the end of the first quarter and 52-6 at the half.
Annawan 60, IVC 33: Celina VanHyfte matched the Lady Ghosts’ team tally with 33 points of her own to power the No. 1 ranked Bravettes to victory in the season finale in Chillicothe Thursday.
Boys basketball
Hall 57, DePue 33: The Red Devils took a 27-13 halftime lead enroute to a nonconference win on the road Friday at neighbor DePue. Brett Fanning led Hall (15-7) with 14 points and Scott Ernat and Nick Epley added 7 each and Brian Kruse had 5.
Ivan Mendez and Alex Lopez had 5 points each for the Little Giants.
Little 10 F/S Tournament: LaMoille/Ohio, the 4 seed, scored the upset of the Little Ten F/S Tournament, knocking off top-seeded Indian Creek 45-40. The Lions were led by Jeff Delong and Brandon Morris with 12 points apiece. L/O will meet No. 2 Serena for the championship at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
L/O beat No. 4 Newark in its opening round game.
Junior college
At Kewanee: Host Blackhawk swept the IVCC hoop teams Tuesday, winning the women’s game 82-63 and the men’s nightcap 80-73. St. Bede alum Alec Schwab poured in 29 points for the Eagles. Top scorer for the Lady Eagles was Johnika Nash (21).

Volleyball: Princeton Logan swept Peru Catholic Thursday at Peru. Rachel Jensen and Kendall Way each served up 9 points to lead the Logan seventh-graders to a 25-20, 27-25 victory. Ivy Rhodes and Brooke Hieronymus scored 11 points and Tieg Sisler added 10 points for the Logan eighth-graders in a 25-9, 25-9 win.
On Friday, Logan took two at Midland. Elise Piper (12) and Jensen (11) led the seventh graders to a 25-9, 25-9 win. Madyson Cain’s 12 points fueled Logan’s 25-20, 25-15 win in the eighth grade.
The Cherry Comets took both matches over visiting Lostant Thursday. Jenna Lusietto, Payton Kerper and Courtney Kobold each had five points to lead the Cherry seventh-graders to a 25-25, 25-8 win. In the eighth-grade contest, Jenna Lusietto (10) and Bailey Manfredini (8) served up a 25-15, 25-8 win.
Basketball: Bureau Valley South enjoyed the comforts of home Thursday against Malden, winning 28-13 in the seventh grade and 33-12 in the eighth grade. Tasha Richardson had 12 points for the BVS seventh-grade; and Kaylnn Sullivan had 10 and Savanna Bell 8 for the eighth grade. Taylor Hall scored six points in each game for the Musketeers.
