PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A surprise announcement during the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet named Connie Marmaro Citizen of the Year for her lifetime service to the community and surrounding communities.
Marmaro has served on the Board for Pinellas County Head Start/Early Head Start and Friends of Family, Morning Star Catholic Special Education School and helped found a support group, Others, for the school.
Marmaro, a mother of five grown children, has been a longtime member of the City Library Board, Friend of the Library, American Business Women’s Association, volunteer usher with the city of St. Petersburg City Theater and Mahaffey Theater, and various volunteer groups.
Marmaro graduated with the Class of 1955 from Princeton High School and frequently visits with her brother, Jerry Piper of Princeton.
