Elizabeth Buchanan

PRINCETON — Elizabeth "Betty" Buchanan, 96, of Princeton passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Liberty Village of Princeton.

Born Feb. 5, 1915, in Ladd to William and Ethel (Williams) Bird, she married Robert William Buchanan Sept. 1, 1932. He died July 25, 1975.

Betty was a life-long homemaker. She also worked for Homesteam Laundry, Perry Memorial Hospital and was a nanny for many children.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Craft Club and the Princeton Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are three children, William (Shirley) Buchanan of Princeton, Beverly (Ronald) Moore of Malden and Burton (Linda) Buchanan of Wyanet; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Association or the Seatonville Congregational Church.
