PRINCETON — Jennie DelFiacco, 92, of Princeton passed away quietly and peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at her home after a lengthy struggle with various health issues.

Jennie DelFiacco was born on Feb. 9, 1919, in Clinton, Iowa, to Sam and Angela (Verese) Cannizzaro. She married Mario DelFiacco on Jan. 17, 1943, in Chicago. He survives.

Jennie was a life-long homemaker. She was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. She volunteered at St. Louis School and at Perry Memorial Hospital and their gift shop. She also volunteered for the bloodmobile.

Jennie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mario DelFiacco of Princeton; two daughters, Pam (Don) Edwards of Rockford and Lu (Dan) Michard of Roscoe; one son, Dom (Deb) DelFiacco of Princeton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Theresa Costible and Bernice Vespo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Phillip Cannizzaro; and one sister, Carmella Pankiewicz.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Jeffery Stirniman officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral at the Ye Old Underground Inn in Princeton. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be private and at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family for charitable disbursement.

The family would like to thank the Eucharistic Ministers who dutifully brought Communion to Jennie and Susan Moore from Bureau Valley Hospice.
