Pistole will present program in Wyanet
WYANET — Jan Pistole, cardiac rehab coordinator at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, will talk about women’s heart health at the R.A. Sapp Memorial Township Library in Wyanet during the library’s 2nd Thursday@the Library program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pistole has worn many hats over the years leading up to coordinating the cardiac rehab of so many people in and around Princeton. An RN, she has been a multiple department director at Perry, a flight nurse with MedForce and a nurse in a local cardiologist’s office in just the past several years. She also teaches classes for EMT students in the area.
At present, not only does she run the rehab, but along with her husband Bob, and sons, Josh, Chad and their families, she owns Sunset Ridge Motocross Track in Walnut. In operating the track, she saw a need for having an EMT service at the track and then did something about that need.
Before Pistole acted on the need, Sunset Ridge used the surrounding towns’ EMT services. The Pistoles realized that if the track needed the ambulance and EMT services it was possible that it could compromise the services available to the towns. She then decided to start the track’s own EMT and Ambulance Service. That service has been up and running successfully for several years now.
