Card shower planned for Farley

A card shower is being held to celebrate the 95th birthday of Evelyn “Evie” Farley, who celebrated on Tuesday.

Evelyn was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Tiskilwa. She is a lifelong Bureau County resident, currently living in Princeton and formerly of Tiskilwa. She was a farmer and pilot, an avid golfer and is still a mean bridge player. She is the oldest member of St. Louis Church in Princeton.

Evelyn has three children, Joan (Richard) Mandell of California, Rita Valentine (deceased) and Judy O’Brien of Princeton. She also has four grandchildren, Erin O’Brien of Chicago, Laurel O’Brien (deceased), and Marissa Rafter and Sean Burton, both of California; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Gee, Kieran, Kerry and Aibhlin O’Brien, Cade and Jessica Rafter, and Russell and Grace Burton.
