Princeton announces electronic recycling options
PRINCETON — Area residents have two new recycling options for electronic items, according to Princeton City Clerk Clyde Wray.
According to Wray, area residents may take items, at no charge, to the Illinois Valley Waste site at 1858 Peggy Lane and put the items in the marked bins located by the shop. The drop-off hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The second option, for Princeton residents only, are to take the items, at no charge, to the Princeton Street Department office at 1105 N. Euclid Ave., across the street from the recycling center drive through, and put the items in the bin marked “electronics.” Drop off hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The two locations will accept the following electronic items: Televisions, printers, electronic keyboards, videocassette recorders, digital video disc players, small scale servers, electronic mice, cable receivers, digital video disc recorders, monitors, computers, laptops, facsimile machines, portable digital music players, video game consoles, scanners, digital converter boxes and satellite receivers.
