Lenten luncheon

PRINCETON — The Methodist Church Handbells will perform during Wednesday’s Lenten musical meditation and luncheon at the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church in Princeton. The meditation will begin at 12:10 p.m. in the sanctuary and end at 12:30 p.m. when lunch will be served.

Library program

PRINCETON — Powerpoint presentation software is a key component of Microsoft Office and a useful tool for making visually interesting reports and presentations. At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Princeton Public Library’s Tuesday Talk About program will be a ground-level lesson on setting up a Powerpoint presentation and tips to help you make the best use of the software. Due to limited computer availability, participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop with presentation software loaded.

Benefit today

PRINCETON — A benefit to help the Leopold family of Princeton with medical and funeral costs for their daughter, Angelina, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Saturday, at the New Hope Church in Princeton. Angelina was born with spina bifida and passed away at the age of 6 in January. A $10 donation will be taken at the door. The event will also include a bake sale, raffles and food. Band 212 will provide entertainment.

MOPS meeting

PRINCETON — Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) will meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 24 N. Main St. in Princeton. MOPS welcomes all moms with children age birth through kindergarten. Childcare is provided during meetings with advance notice. Meeting set

PRINCETON — The Northwest Princeton unit of Home Extension will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Lois Johnson, 709 E. Thompson St., with Gert Zaleski as the co-hostess. The lesson will be “Are you able to read the label?” given by Gert Zaleski. The auction gift will be furnished by Nancy Hennings.

Organizational meeting

LADD — A meeting for a newly forming men’s club in Ladd will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ladd Community Center. For more information, call Dave at 815-894-3257.

Minister installation

PRINCETON — The Rev. Mary Gay McKinney will be formally installed as the minister of Open Prairie United Church of Christ in Princeton at a special celebration on March 11 at the church. The service will take place at 3 p.m. and a reception will follow. Everyone is invited to attend.


OTTAWA — The third annual Rip’s chicken dinner to benefit Easter Seals of LaSalle and Bureau counties will be from 4 to 8 p.m. March 12 at Rip’s Tavern. For ticket information, call 815-434-0857.
