Lenten luncheon

PRINCETON — Laura Brigham will perform during Wednesday’s Lenten musical meditation and luncheon at the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church in Princeton.

The meditation will begin at 12:10 p.m. in the sanctuary and end at 12:30 p.m. when lunch will be served.

Rummage sale

CHERRY — The Cherry Fire Department will have a spring rummage sale on April 28. Dates and times when the department will accept donations will be announced soon. Anyone with items to be pick up now may call Alice Ring at 815-303-7551 or Wendy Raef at 815-894-9236.

Volunteer appreciation

PRINCETON — A volunteer appreciation open house for the Bureau County Red Cross will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Prouty Building, 435 S. Main St. in Princeton.

Acknowledgments will be at 5:30 p.m. R.S.V.P. by March 28 by calling 815-879-2231. Refreshments will be served.

Meeting set

LEEPERTOWN — The Final Farewell Celebration committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Bureau Grade School (Leepertown CCSD) conference room to plan the final celebration/reunion for the school closure.

Alumni are asked to attend to assist with planning the May 20 activities and to help disseminate plans to individuals associated with the school throughout the decades.

Public viewing

MANLIUS — The Manlius Historical Society will open the First State Bank building in Manlius from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday for public viewing, preceding the drawdown.

Also there will be tickets sold at the door of the Manlius Sportsman’s Club for $20 a person for a fish dinner and a chance to win the cash prizes. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and drawdown follows at 7 p.m.

Knights and princesses dance

SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley Boosters invite all knights and princesses to a Knight to Remember from 7 to 10 p.m. April 14 at John F. Kennedy Gym. Daughters, dads and grandfathers can dance the night away. Daughters receive a wrist corsage, photo and more.

Present your ticket at Angelo’s, The Big House, Valley Bar & Grill or Verucchi’s and receive a special discount on dinner the night of the dance. Tickets are $20 per couple, $5 per additional guest.

Tickets must be purchased by April 7 to receive the corsage. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Golden Eagles to meet

WYANET — The Wyanet Golden Eagles will meet at 12:30 p.m. April 3 at John’s Sheffield Diner, located at Route 40 and the Interstate 80 exchange. Lunch is “pay for your own” and all seniors, 55 and over, are welcome. No reservations are needed this month. For additional information call Louise at 8l5-699-7768.

MS Community Day

PRINCETON — Supporters of the Bureau County Multiple Sclerosis Organization (BCMSORG) are invited to meet at Monical’s Pizza Tuesday to enjoy pizza and support Bureau County Multiple Sclerosis Community Day.
