Herbert Knapp Jr.

TISKILWA — Herbert “Bud” W. Knapp Jr., 85, of Tiskilwa passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Henry.

He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Tiskilwa to Herbert W. and Bess (Sweet) Knapp.

After attending Tiskilwa High School, he farmed with his father, then was employed by Perry Memorial Hospital. He left for a short time to attend welding school in South Carolina and later returned to Perry Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1986.

He was a lifetime member of the Tiskilwa United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one sister, Thelma Casper of Eau Claire, Wis.; one niece, Karlyn (Terry) Etheridge of Eau Claire, Wis.; one grand-niece, Talya Etheridge of Fredricksburg, Va.; and one grand-nephew, Tyler Etheridge of Eau Claire, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce, in infancy.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hopeland Cemetery, Buda, with the Rev. Tom Ostrander of the First United Methodist Church, Princeton, officiating.

Memorials may be directed to the Tiskilwa Community Church or the Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Arrangements are through the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton.
